Speaking on an episode of the Brut Podcast, Mr Eazi explained that his mother, Pastor (Mrs.) Ifeoma Edith Ajibade, was a conservative woman who disliked travelling, making it difficult for her to attend his performances as his music career took him around the world.
“My only regret in life is that my mom never got to watch me perform on stage before she passed away. She was very conservative in her life in general. She didn’t like travelling, not even from Lagos to Accra,” he said.
The singer said that as his career grew and he began travelling across different countries for shows, his mother remained supportive of him from home through her prayers.
“And the more my career progressed, the more I was travelling across the world to do shows. But she always supported me with prayers,” he added.
Mr Eazi also revealed that his father only watched him perform once, in 2017, years after he became a major name in the music industry.
According to him, his father has remained supportive of his career and regularly calls to congratulate him whenever he releases a new song or project.
Mr Eazi’s mother, a former banker who later became a pastor, passed away on March 6, 2025.
